Are You Covered for Terrorism Insurance?

The manhunt for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ended with FBI agents spraying a Boston man’s boat with bullets. With the boat owner’s $50,000 watercraft destroyed, he learned that his insurance policy would not cover the damage.
Lawful police activities are generally not covered under umbrella insurance policies.
It sounds incredible, but bullet holes and other forms of damage resulting from law enforcement are not typically covered as “vandalism” under insurance policies.

The sale of life insurance policies and reverse mortgages are topics that have garnered a lot of attention recently due to regular television commercials and radio ads on the topic. The pitch usually goes something like this:
As you age, your needs change. You may not have the same needs you did in the past. Your house is paid off, the kids are all grown up. Why not sell your life insurance policy so that you can enjoy the extra money while you’re still living.
According to these ads, selling life insurance is all upside. But there can be huge disadvantages with this depending upon your situation.

This storm that involved multiple tornados leveled the town and killed 23 people according to Wikipedia. The death toll could have been even larger if there had not been a warning broadcast to the community roughly 16 minutes ahead of time.
